1. Overview
Silver Leaf Agency (“Silver Leaf,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates silverleafagency.com (the “Site”) and provides digital marketing services including paid search management, search engine optimization, analytics and conversion tracking, content, and website development.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site and to our general business communications. It does not govern data we process on behalf of our clients under a signed services agreement — see Section 8.
2. Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you choose to give us, including:
- Contact and inquiry information — your name, business name, email address, phone number, website URL, and anything else you include when you submit a contact form, request a proposal, subscribe to updates, or email or call us.
- Business information — details about your company, marketing goals, current advertising spend, or existing vendors that you share during a sales conversation.
- Correspondence — the content of emails, form submissions, and messages you send us, and our records of those exchanges.
We do not require you to create an account to use the Site, and we do not collect payment card information through the Site.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by us and by the analytics and advertising services described in Section 4:
- IP address (which may be truncated or anonymized by the service collecting it)
- Browser type, browser language, operating system, and device type
- Pages viewed, time spent on pages, scroll depth, and links clicked
- The referring website, search terms, or advertisement that brought you to the Site
- Approximate geographic location derived from IP address (typically city or region level)
- Date and time of your visit
This information is collected through cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following categories of technology on the Site:
Strictly necessary. Cookies and local storage required for the Site to function — session management, security, spam prevention on forms, and remembering your cookie preferences. These cannot be disabled through our Site.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies that assign your browser a randomly generated identifier and records the activity described in Section 3. Information about your use of the Site may be transmitted to and stored by Google. You can learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Advertising and conversion measurement. We use Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing, deployed through Google Tag Manager. These technologies allow us to measure which advertisements lead to inquiries and to show our advertisements to people who have previously visited the Site, on Google properties and on websites in Google’s partner networks. You can manage Google’s advertising personalization at myadcenter.google.com and opt out of participating vendors’ interest-based advertising at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
We do not currently use social media pixels, session recording or heatmap tools, or call tracking with call recording on the Site. If that changes, we will update this Policy.
Managing cookies generally. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may cause parts of the Site not to work as intended.
5. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the information or proposal you requested
- Communicate with you about our services, including follow-up on an inquiry
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site
- Measure the performance of our marketing, including which channels and advertisements produce qualified inquiries
- Send business updates or marketing emails where you have opted in, and where you can unsubscribe at any time
- Detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use
We do not use the information collected through the Site to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not use it for profiling in that sense.
6. How We Share Information
We share information in the following circumstances, and not otherwise:
Service providers. We use third parties to run our business — website hosting, email delivery, analytics, advertising platforms, customer relationship management, and cloud infrastructure. They receive only what they need to perform their function and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes, except as described below for advertising platforms.
Advertising and analytics platforms. As described in Section 4, Google receives information about your interaction with the Site through the analytics and advertising tags we deploy. Google processes that information under its own privacy policy and terms.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, the safety of any person, or to investigate potential violations of our Terms of Use.
Business transfers. If Silver Leaf is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient honors this Policy or gives you notice of any material change.
Sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. However, some U.S. state privacy laws define “sale” and “sharing” or “targeted advertising” broadly enough to include the use of advertising cookies like those described in Section 4. To the extent our use of Google Ads remarketing constitutes “sharing” or processing for “targeted advertising” under those laws, you may opt out as described in Section 9. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
7. How Long We Keep Information
We keep contact and inquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain a record of our business relationship, and thereafter as required for legitimate business, tax, and legal purposes — generally no more than seven years after our last substantive contact, unless a longer period is required by law. Analytics event data is retained for 2 months, the standard Google Analytics retention period, after which only aggregated reporting data remains. Marketing email lists are maintained until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not contact you again.
8. Client Data — Information We Process on Behalf of Others
When we provide services to a client, we often access or process data that belongs to that client, including advertising account data, website analytics, customer lists provided for audience matching, and form submissions from the client’s own website.
In those engagements, the client is the controller of that data and Silver Leaf acts as a service provider or processor. We handle it only as directed by the client and in accordance with our written services agreement, and we do not use it to build our own marketing lists or to benefit other clients. If you are an end customer of one of our clients and want to exercise privacy rights over your data, please contact that business directly; if you contact us, we will refer your request to them.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, state privacy law may give you some or all of the following rights regarding personal information we hold about you as a controller:
- Access — to confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy
- Correction — to correct inaccurate personal information
- Deletion — to request deletion of your personal information
- Portability — to receive your personal information in a portable, readily usable format
- Opt out — to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of personal information, and certain profiling
- Limit use of sensitive information — where applicable; note that we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the Site
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised a privacy right
How to exercise a right. Email us at legal@silverleafagency.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line, or write to us at the address in Section 14. We will acknowledge your request and respond within the time frame required by applicable law, generally 45 days, and we may extend that period where the law permits. We will need to verify your identity before acting, typically by confirming information you have already given us or by contacting you at an email address we have on file. We do not charge a fee for a reasonable request.
Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where state law allows. We may ask the agent for proof of authorization and may ask you to verify your own identity directly.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond to the appeal within the period required by your state’s law and, if we deny the appeal, will provide information about how to contact your state attorney general.
Opting out of targeted advertising. In addition to the platform opt-outs in Section 4, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension transmits GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale or sharing for the browser transmitting it.
10. Do Not Track
Browsers may transmit a “Do Not Track” signal. Because no common industry standard for interpreting that signal has been adopted, the Site does not respond to Do Not Track. We do respond to Global Privacy Control as described in Section 9.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor review. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately at legal@silverleafagency.com.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Site is a business-to-business website intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-Party Websites
The Site contains links to websites and services we do not control, including our clients’ websites, social media platforms, and industry resources. This Policy does not apply to those sites. Review their privacy policies before providing information.
14. Changes and Contact
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and if the changes are material we will provide more prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
